What to look out for when buying a section:

  • Choosing a section to build on is a very important decision in the building process. This is usually the time when dreams of building your brand new home start to become a reality.   • Here are a few common things to look out for when choosing the right section for your new home:
  • Sloping sections may have more cost involved with extra groundworks. Our New Home Consultants will be happy to view your section and give you advice on this
  • New subdivisions are likely to have set Covenants to protect the neighbourhood. We will need a copy of these Covenants before any plan design can start
  • Good location helps resale value. Look into surrounding facilities such as schools, shops, bus routes, connections for sewerage, water and power and also for detrimental things like overhead powerlines, noisy roads etc
  • Views will need to be taken into account when designing a floorplan but equally important is the amount of sun your new home will get throughout the day. Good planning can save lots on heating costs. Our New Home Consultants can give you expert advice on this.
  • There are other issues such as soil tests, Geotech reports etc that our New Home Consultants can advise you on. We have developed relationships with many Developers and can help you source a suitable section along with the information you need or are available to visit your section you have chosen.
