Mike, Esther, Chris and the team at Hallmark Homes always treated us, our ideas and wishes with respect. They helped and guided us through the building process, incorporating our vision and desires.
We now have a home of the highest standard, of unique design and exceptional finish.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Hallmark Homes to anyone thinking of building a new home.

We are thrilled with the home built for us by Hallmark Homes. They made the experience stress-free handling everything from start to finish in a most professional manner. Helpful advice was given every step of the way.
We are now the proud owners of a high quality well built and low maintenance home which we selected from their large number of plans which they were happy to modify to our requirements.

We greatly enjoyed building with Hallmark; neither of us had built on this scale before!! From day one they were helpful and informative. They were mindful of our budget, yet encouraged us to think big and realise our dream. The whole crew were very friendly, approachable and willing to assist in any way they could. Follow up has been great. Our home is beautiful. We would do it all again tomorrow.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank you Mike and the staff at Hallmark for everything over the past few weeks and months. We are just loving this home so much and want to thank you for the lovely gift of champagne and champagne glasses - we certainly used them for a toast to everyone involved with this fantastic home!
Thanks again.
Cheers

Hallmark certainly get lots of brownie points in this house re the excellent finish to the "product" (many people have commented on it including people who know much more about such things than I do) and also the on-going follow-up service which we cannot fault!

Here at Hallmark Homes, we are proud to have been involved in building beautiful homes for our clients. Here is what they said!
December 2010
To whom it may concern,
My name is Brian Willson. I have been involved in the building industry for nearly 40 years covering a wide range of projects. I have been in my own business for nearly 30 years located evenly between Palmerston North and Taupo and now I am semi retired in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
I have commissioned Hallmark homes twice in the past three years to build two upmarket homes for me. Firstly in 2007, they built a house in the new Waiotahi Drifts subdivision near Opotiki. Their standard of workmanship, friendly approach and follow up service were first class. So pleased was I that I had no hesitation in commissioning them (unopposed) a second time to build another house in the same subdivision but right on the beachfront. This house has just been completed (October 2010). I received exactly the same service as the first house and importantly I found I could trust this company and knew that any concerns I may raise would be listened to and acted upon.
Having been involved in the building industry for so long I have certain expectations of workmanship. I have in the past been a building supervisor/quality controller for various housing companies in Palmerston North. I can honestly say that Hallmark Homes from administration to workers on the job provide a quality product and are very easy to work with throughout the entire building process.
I rate Hallmark Homes very highly and have no hesitation recommending potential home owners to use them with confidence.
Yours sincerely
Brian Willson

It is with much pleasure we write this testimonial for Hallmark Homes, Whakatane. We love our new home and we love to live in it. That is the first and most important thing for us to say because their slogan is “Homes people love to live in”. And it is true!
Mike was our Project Manager and he was with us every step of the way. I think the most important aspect of building our home was the relationship we built with him and continue to have with him. When people walk around our new home, they believe that a lot of careful thought, consideration, care and pursuit of excellence is evident in the build. They suggest a special partnership, a successful relationship. We feel that way too.
Mike listened to our dreams for a new home and offered lots of helpful suggestions as the build was being planned and during the actual build. His knowledge, expertise and experience supported us in the many decisions we had to make. He was able to confidently give us estimates on the spot as to how much things would cost, what differences a slight adjustment to the design would make or tactfully suggest a new idea when we were unsure of our own decision making.
Now……. here we are all moved in. We get up in the morning and it is a pleasure to walk in a natural flow from room to room; the design is exactly what we envisaged and it is warm and peaceful and finished to perfection. Everything blends well with our environment and reflects our culture, the way we live, what’s important to us, such as indoor outdoor living and making the most of the views. It is a quality home. Strong, sturdy, safe and durable. Most of all, it is a pleasure to live in it and it has greatly improved the quality of our lives.
People ask us how stressful the build was because ‘isn’t it one of the most stressful things you can do”? We have to say, it was a stress free experience. We took a lot of responsibility ourselves in communicating with Mike each week and we think that’s important for any home builders. In return, he made the whole build experience smooth and seamless, keeping us informed along the way and staggering the many decisions we had to make. Mike’s style of staggering the decision-making made the build manageable for us as a busy working couple. We didn’t feel any pressure to come up with all the answers straight away or make major decisions all at once and this was great for us.
We recommend that if you want to build, that you:
-
jot down all your ideas on paper- make lots of lists
-
decide on how much you can spend
-
draw out some of your ideas, even rough sketches will do
-
collect pictures from magazines and books that you like
-
list the FIVE most important things you HAVE to have in your new home
-
list the things you would like but can be flexible about
-
Go and see Hallmark. Take your ideas with you, have a cuppa and get started.
We would build with Mike again tomorrow, without hesitation.

Dear Hallmark
It is with great pleasure and extreme satisfaction that we are able to write this letter to you all today.
Mike and his staff were incredible to deal with and they showed integrity and professionalism from the beginning to end of this house building project. When any issues arose, of which there were few, they were dealt with swiftly and with a calm attitude. They always communicated the progress of the house to us promptly and seemed to be excited about the project. We really appreciated the way the house was presented to us when completed, it was sparkling clean and all the little details had been done.
Deborah is worth her weight in gold and displayed fantastic interpersonal qualities. Esther, Debbie and Jodie are also excellent to deal with. They are ‘down to earth’ and always made us feel like we were the focus of their job. They inspired great confidence in us as second time home builders.
Laurence Forrest the carpenter and all the other sub-contractors were gentlemen showing consideration and fine work ethic at all times. They plasterers you used were also fantastic, they were like family.
For us it felt like our home was being built around us, fulfilling all of our needs and exceeding our expectations in regard to communication, workmanship and thoughtfulness. It felt to us like everyone involved had the same goal and that was to have our new home built.
Once again I wish to reiterate that we had absolute confidence right through the building journey in Mike and the team at Hallmark. Everything has been achieved with minimal stress and effort.
We will be highly recommending your company.
Thanks so much Hallmark.
Bruce and Linda Malins.

Mike, Esther and all the staff at Hallmark Homes,
Kevin and I would like to thank you all in the successful building of our lovely home. All the trades people who worked on our home worked professionally and with respect to our property and of us. When we had a hick up it was dealt with quickly and to our satisfaction, every one was such a pleasure to work with.
Both Kevin and I are so happy with our Hallmark Home, that we have recommended your building company to others and have invited them up to see the workmanship which speaks for itself.
We would like to thank you all very much for making our DREAM a REALITY.
Kind regards
